JPETER Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 HELLO THIS IS VERY CONFUSING TO ME IF THE CHURCH IS REFERRED TO AS JESUS BRIDE IS THAT NOT MARRIAGE ? WILL THERE BE MALE AND FEMALE PARTNERSHIPS WITH CONJUGAL VISITATION? PEOPLE TELL ME WE WILL JUST HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE ACTUALLY WE MARRY IN THIS WORLD FOR PROCREATION HOWEVER THERE IS A SPECIAL BOND THAT GOES ALONG WITH THAT AND I CANT IMAGINE HEAVEN WITHOUT IT. I GUESS WE JUST HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE FOR A LOT OF THINGS BECAUSE EYE HAS NOT SEEN OR EAR HEAR OF THE THINGS JESUS IS PREPARING FOR THOSE THAT LOVE HIM AND THATS ENOUGH FOR ME!? Quote
Lone Ranger Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 A. Do not use ALL CAPS as it is considered rude/shouting. B. One must separate the SYMBOLISM of "marriage" from the actual act of marriage. IMO there are several misconceptions of "heaven" in this post. Quote
JoeMo Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 IMHO, sex was given to humans because God knew they would need to populate the earth and replace themselves due to death. I doubt that we will have or need a sex drive in heaven, because we will be immortal with no need to reproduce ourselves. "At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven." (Matt. 22:30; also see Mark 12:25). For many people, the "special bond of sex" is also known as "lust" - not always; but frequently. If we have no sex drive in heaven , lust will be a thing of the past. That being said, I only infer that "not marrying" means "no sex"; but it is a strong inference. But IMHO the Bible never explicitly says there will be no sex in heaven. phkrause 1 Quote
JPETER Posted June 9, 2019 Author Posted June 9, 2019 hello sorry for the all caps not to be rude or shouting just easier for me to read i realize heaven is an ambigeous place the new jaruselem or the earth made new are more correct also my spelling is atrotious however it saves time i agree most first time relationships is lust and not agape love also if jesus said there will be no marriage on the earth made new then he will have something better for us. i have this problem and my wife fumes at me sometimes for being critical of many things in the bible it is not that i lose faith just jesus has given us humans these keen questioning minds that i want to know everything before it is time the only things we really ned to know are in 1st corintians chapter 13 yes the love chapter and GOD is love so after the ressurection it is in his hands and i should be satisfied by that knowledge.. choose this day who you will serve and please heavenly father stop me from being a critical cricket thank you in JESUS precious name amen JoeMo 1 Quote

Very good insight! And it is fine to question God. If you question Him with an open mind and heart, He will give you an answer. He can handle your questions; He has ALL the answers! Amen to your insight on 1 Corinthians 13. Read it again; and substitute the word "God" for love. It will perfectly define who God is. Quote
Moderators Bravus Posted June 10, 2019 Moderators Posted June 10, 2019 A couple of things on that text. One is that Jesus was not making a doctrinal proclamation. The disciples had asked him an incredibly detailed, fiddly, unlikely hypothetical question, about 7 brothers successively marrying the same woman, then dying (had they checked her cooking?!), and whose wife she would be in heaven. It was the kind of question the rabbis loved to argue about and think through, and that stuff can be fun, but Jesus was on a mission and didn't want to get bogged down, so he shut it down quickly. I mean, the scandalous answer is that she'd be a wife to all of them. Conceivable that that's true but He realised it would be a huge sidetrack for everyone, both there and in the future. I wonder, too, whether by 'no marrying and giving in marriage' He meant no *new* marriages in Heaven, but that those already married would be married in heaven. I could be wrong of course. But my 31 year marriage is about far more than sex, and I would struggle to imagine that a heaven without my connection to my beloved would be heaven at all. That might be just a failure of my imagination. I guess we all just need to wait and see... and not to be too doctrinaire in the mean time. JoeMo 1 Quote Truth is important

Joe: I am truly surprised that you think that marriage is related to lust. First, let clear up one thing, the Bible never used the word sex for the intimacy of marriage. Sex: late 14c., "males or females collectively," from Latin sexus "a sex, state of being either male or female, gender," of uncertain origin. "Commonly taken with seco as division or 'half' of the race" [Tucker], which would connect it to secare "to divide or cut" Secus seems the more original formation, but it is strange that the older texts only know sexus. The modern meaning of sectiō 'division' suggests that sec/xus might derive from secāre 'to sever', but the morphology remains unclear: does sexus go back to an s-present *sek-s- 'to cut up', or was it derived from a form *sek-s- of the putative s-stem underlying secus? [Michiel de Vaan, "Etymological Dictionary of Latin and the other Italic Languages," Leiden, 2008] And Adam knew his wife, Eve. And she conceived and bore Cain, and said, I have gotten a man, YAHWEH. Gen 4:1 The Hebrew word yada (the English word to know/knew is used) does not mean a strictly sexual relationship at all! The word, yada is dedicating oneself to the opposite male or female when married for them to engage with each other in love and affection. This is explained in Gen 1:26, 27 but sadly the KJV stated something that did not make sense. “Let us make man in OUR OWN RESEMBLANCE …So ELOHIYM created man in HIS OWN RESEMBLANCE, in THE RESEMBLANCE of ELOHIYM created HE him; male and female created HE them. Let’s be honest if you just take time and read these passages, they actually do not make any sense! So ELOHIYM created a man that word is singular and made a male and a female which is two beings, not one. If you look up the word man in Hebrew it is Adam, it should read as follow: And ELOHIYM said, Let us make the Adams in OUR RESEMBLANCE, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So ELOHIYM created the Adams in HIS OWN RESEMBLANCE, in the RESEMBLANCE of ELOHIYM created HE male and female created HE them. And ELOHIYM blessed them, and ELOHIYM said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Now the Bible says male and female and this is dealing specifically with the differences of their reproduction organs. Yada was given to both male and female for love and affection to each other and a part of that affection is how you make children. This union was not ugly, it was perfect, and it was a Command given by YAHWEH. That’s why homosexual acts are an abomination to THEM our CREATORS! Now, it is true that Adam named the animals, and this was to show that HE needed a helpmate just like the animals. YAHWEH told them both to care for the Garden then the Bible in its Hebraic form breaks down what took place, Adam and the animals then he was put to sleep and Ms. Adam (she was not named Eve until after they sin), was made from his rib. The male Adam was also named Adam under a different Hebrew Number H121 instead of H120 in which this number was both of them H121 was only for him. H121 means that he was the first male and this number was used up until he died. But H120 was used to say they earthly beings male and female! The name Eve meant the first female who bore children. My point is to understand love and marriage you must have Yada Commanded in Creation and not sex! Finally, if you read what YAHSHUA stated that because of having married more then one time if the spouse is deceased and both husbands are saved; if they all die only and are raise there is no marrying. But HE also said this: And answering, YAHSHUA said to them, Do you not err because of this, not knowing the Scriptures nor THE POWER of YAHWEH? Mark 12:24 It did not speak about those who are alive and the earth made new. I feel on this let’s not make an assumption because none of us know THE POWER of YAHWEH! So on that note that is far as I am going with this! Blessings! Quote

I don't think that marriage should be related to lust; but in this world that's the reality of the reason many people get married. And when the "passion" goes away, the marriage is over. I'm not saying that's the way it should be; but unfortunately, that's reality for most of the world. 5 hours ago, stinsonmarri said: My point is to understand love and marriage you must have Yada Commanded in Creation and not sex!
