Satan and his angels witnessed the birth of Christ, so don't you think they also believe that He came in the flesh?

Christ assumed my fallen life from Adam and I can by faith stand perfect "in Him". [i have removed one sentence-GM.]

I don't believe Satan thinks he needs Christ's righteousness.

Yes, I know about the gnostics. My point in what I said is that there are other tests which must be taken into consideration and not just pick out one to support one's favorite theory.

If you look in John, you will find other tests besides what you quoted.

[:"red"]"And how can we be sure that we belong to Him? By obeying His commandments. If someone says, 'I belong to God,' but doesn't obey His commandments, that person is a liar and does not live in the truth." 1 Jn 2:3,4 NLT

"If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." 1 Jn 1:6,7 NKJ

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." 1 Jn 1:8 NKJ

"He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now." 1 Jn 2:9 NKJ

"Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son...." 1 Jn 2:22

"If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him." 1 Jn 2:29 NKJ

"And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure." 1 Jn 3:3 NKJ

"No one who lives in Him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen Him or known Him....He who does what is sinful is of the devil..." 1 Jn 3:6,8 NIV

"This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother." Ibid v. 10 NIV

"By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments." 1 Jn 5:2 NKJ

Read the whole book, it is all about tests as to how we can know who are the children of God and who are children of the devil.

Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup.

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

Hi Pam,

I'm not sure if you're aware of this but there are free online Bible and Commentaries. I have them on my PC and Laptop and use them often when posting in CA. (The Bible part)

Go to:

http://www.e-sword.net/index.html

There are over twenty different Bibles (I think you have to pay for 2 or 3 of them) I got most of the free ones. I really like the KJV with a built in concordance. When you highlight a word the original language translation shows up. It has helped me a lot. The commentaries I haven't really used and I don't have the SDA one either.

If you haven't gone to the other website I mentioned you should give it a try it's really inspiring.

In Christ.

Norman

The unconditional pardon of sin never has been, and never will be. PP 522

Please read it in the Amplified. I think it expresses the true meaning. If Jesus cannot deliver us from sin/sinning, then He is no Savior at all. Since we continue to live in a fallen body, we will continue to commit unintentional sins until the Second Coming.
