Neil D Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 [:"blue"] And now, some truely left wing journalism....Something to counter all the right wing stuff that has been floating around.... [/] by RS Janes May 31, 2006 at 6:04 pm Pacific As well as honoring those who have served our country on Memorial Day, it’s also educational to cite those who haven’t. Here’s a list of prominent Bush administration inhabitants and cheerleaders who support the Iraq War but bravely avoided enlisting to serve in the United States military during wartime. (Weekend Warriors in the National Guard don’t count. Thanks to BushWatch.net for this list.) George W. Bush*, Dick Cheney*, Jeb Bush*, John Ashcroft*, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle*, Spencer Abraham, Don Evans, Karl Rove*, Andrew Card, Tom DeLay*, Trent Lott*, Mitch McConnell*, Dick Armey*, Antonin Scalia*, Clarence Thomas, Newt Gingrich*, Mark Racicot, Rudy Guiliani, Charlton Heston*, Bill Bennett*, Jerry Falwell*, George Will*, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, Tony Snow, Britt Hume, Sean Hannity, Dan Quayle*. (* The asterisk indicates those who supported the Vietnam War as young men, but not enough to actually go there and get shot at in combat.) It’s interesting to note that Bush Secretary of State Colin Powell, Republican Sen.’s John McCain and Chuck Hagel, Democratic Sen.’s John Kerry and Max Cleland, Dem. Rep. Jack Murtha, and Army Gen.’s Brent Scowcroft and Norman Schwarzkopf, (who commanded the US troops in Desert Storm) all of whom served in combat in Vietnam and know firsthand the horrors of war, now have serious reservations about the Iraq War.
