ciretose Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Found this on a news site. ______________________________________ Jun 2, 2006 7:39 pm US/Eastern Congregants Of Storm-Damaged Church Spot Miracle Richard Sher Reporting (WJZ) Ellicott City, Md. A day after a fire severely damaged a church in Ellicott City, congregants gathered to clean up strewn debris while witnessing a miracle. During the wrath of severe weather that hammered the Baltimore region Thursday night, The Crossroads Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ellicott City sustained severe damage to its sanctuary. Bill Mould, a spokesman for Howard County Fire and Rescue, said while authorities have not determined the cause of the blaze, thunderstorms with lightning were moving through the area when the fire started. A graduation ceremony for kindergartners at the Adventist school had just finished and the children were safely away from the sanctuary when the fire broke out. The fire was extinguished in about 20 minutes and no injuries were reported. On Friday, a day after the storm, a cross, which has hung on a wall in the sanctuary for many years, still remains perfectly in-tact. Members of the church stared at the cross in awe, trying to fathom how it suffered no damage. Margaret and Frank Coleman, who have been members of the church for more than 50 years, call it a miracle. "I can't help but cry. I'm very sad, but it's a miracle that the cross was not touched," Margaret tells WJZ's Richard Sher. Sabbath services at Seventh Day Adventist will be held in church's social hall, which has been converted to a sanctuary while the damage to the main building is repaired. Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted June 3, 2006 Members Posted June 3, 2006 That's pretty cool. <img src="/adventist/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> (I hope they don't sell the cross on ebay now.) If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Taylor Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 lol rudywoofs! You are too funny! But PTL for the spared the church. Quote
