Administrators Gail Posted June 6, 2006 Administrators Posted June 6, 2006 Jun 6, 2006 6-Foot, 6-Inch Grandfather Turns 66 On 6/6/06 (CBS) MANCHESTER, N.H. Paul Porter was born on June 6. He was always good with numbers. He just didn't realize how good. "A couple of weeks ago, I happened to think about the irony of 6-6-06. And I'll be 66 and I'm 6 feet, 6 inches." Porter is not superstitious but his friends can't help playing up the notorius number associated with the devil. "The exit up Route 93 (9+3=12=6+6) from Boston, if I'm coming home is exit 6. So we have a lot of coincidences." Potter is well known at Manchester City Hall. He was the tax assessor and an alderman at one point. What ward did he represent? Ward 6. Standing tall at 6-feet, 6-inches, he dismisses all the Doomsday theories. "I don't believe the world is going to end because I have 12 (6+6) years left on my mortgage," he said. "I don't think the bank would allow it." An Army veteran, Porter has his birthday on his Veterans license plate. It is a reminder of one of the most important days in American history: the allied invasion of Normandy in World War II. "I often think of the significance of D-Day more than anything else." But this year, he's just having fun with the numbers. By the way, did we tell you he has six grandchildren? (© MMVI, CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved.) Clio Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 <img src="/adventist/images/graemlins/peace.gif" alt="" /> Doesn't sound like he's superstitious does it... but then he's had 66 years to get over it..... Quote A heart where He alone has first place.
cricket Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 (9+3=12=6+6) This mathematical clarification just cracks me up! Quote
Clio Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Doesn't it though? LOL! Quote A heart where He alone has first place.

Amelia Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Horror fan names 6/6/06 baby Damien A horror film fan gave birth to a 6lb 6oz baby on 6/6/06 - and called it Damien. Suzanne Cooper named her baby after the devil child in the The Omen who was born on 6/6/66. Special needs teacher Suzanne, 36, was induced for six days before Damien arrived at 6.59am, reports the Mirror. She said: "We are overjoyed about the baby. The Omen is one of our favourite films and that's why I was keeping my legs crossed for a birth on the 6th. "It does seem a bit weird I suppose, but he's a perfect baby - nothing at all like Damien in The Omen." Electrical engineer Mike added: "It was a devil of a birth - a bit of a horror show. Once she went into labour it was straightforward, but six days in hospital is a long time to wait. "It took a fair bit of persuasion for Suzanne to let us call him Damien but it seems fitting considering the date." Amelia Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 BROTHER OF OMEN ACTOR IN 666 JINX The Daily Record Jun 3 2006 THE Omen star Pete Postlethwaite has revealed his brother died after drawing three sixes in a card game - while he was filming the remake of the 70s chiller. Postlethwaite, who plays Father Brennan, told how his 62-year-old brother Mike's pals even joked about him dying after he drew the Devil's hand in a game of poker. Pete said: "It's a very personal thing but it's true nonetheless. Mike's death was completely out of the blue. "The lads down his club told me they'd been playing cards the week before. They were playing open three-card poker and Mike drew three sixes. "One of the fellas even jokingly said to him, 'That's your number up now' and it was just shortly afterwards he died on March 14. "It's not necessarily got anything to do with the film but I think things like that do happen and it's just sometimes we're not sensitised enough to see the connection." The original 1976 movie was beset by problems including the plane for scriptwriter David Seltzer being struck by lightning. The film's star, Gregory Peck, had a lucky escape after cancelling a flight to Israel, which later crashed, killing all on board. The jinx continued when a warden at the safari park used in the "crazy baboon" scene was killed by a lion and crew members survived a head-on smash. Director John Moore admitted the 2006 Omen had also been hit by a series of glitches. He said: "Whether or not it's all voodoo nonsense, I don't know, but I'm a superstitious person by nature and it's very debilitating because you invent problems for yourself."
