B/W Photodude Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 Many different "other" religions are now being used that results in Christian children being forced to participate in non-Christian religious practices. Stangely enough, it even includes kids being forced to participate in Islam in American schools where Christian practices are outlawed. Paganism is Being Enforced by the State in Canada, Thanks to Rome A Canadian court has just ruled that all public school children, including Christians, can be forced to participate in pagan mother earth worship ceremonies. British Columbia’s top court has just determined that “smudging ceremonies,” an ancient ritual that cleanses your body and spirit from negative energy, are not religious but “cultural.” Public schools will be allowed to continue bringing Shamans (witch doctors and spirit mediums) into their classrooms to burn sage and cleanse the “spirits” of their students. http://adventmessenger.org/paganism-is-being-enforced-by-the-state-in-canada-thanks-to-rome/ phkrause and BlessedMan 1 1 Quote >>>Texts in blue type are quotes<<< ***************************************************************************** And therefore as a stranger give it welcome. I will throw out a brief spoiler for now. I would very strongly question the author of cited article's use; I should say, gross misuse of "the spirit of prophecy," in the article. Its completely out of context and out of touch with the situation in Canada. In case you are wondering what quote I am talking about: Quote Spiritualism is now changing its form, veiling some of its more objectionable and immoral features, and assuming a Christian guise. I think I know why he posted this, and I know he is not anything like what I am about to say. OK, well, this dude, Elder Andy Roman, who authored this article is a malicious internet "evangelist, presenting us with Loser Theology, festooned with bitter stabs at people that he likely has never met, nor knows anything about. I am stepping out on a limb a bit here in saying that, but I took my time and looked into this guy and I found some really disturbing things. Its important to first realize Elder Handy Andy is not a Seventh-day Adventist, even though he and his website sport about much gibbering regarding "Adventist" beliefs. He has started up his own off-shoot group of like-minded "soup for brains mantra", calling themselves The Eternal Gospel Church," formed in 1992 By "Seventh-Day Adventist Believers," which is really just a long-winded title used to legally separate themselves from other Seventh Day Adventists. Quote “We signed a contract,” said Andy Roman, the elder of the church. Roman said CBS Outdoor was buckling under pressure. Andy Roman has a history of taunting the public with Satan's Billboards and he has had brushes with legal proceedings for doing so. And as if all this was not disturbing enough, Handy Andy seems to prefer calling everyone who doesn't believe as he and his cronies prefer, "witches" or "pagan" and with his special Jesus talk, he likely convinces some of his wanton lip-smacking emotives claiming "cooperation and dialogue" is "of the devil," and thus the smear of "hurrah/boo theory;" once more plagues sincere Christians and others who are his intended victims. Deut 32:17 seems to be one of his favorites: Quote "They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.” In case you have not figured it out, I am really upset at someone calling Canada's Indigenous Peoples "paganism," and the like. Here is part of what he said in the article cited in the OP: Quote "Paganism is Being Enforced by the State in Canada, Thanks to Rome A Christian mother has lost a court case against a Port Alberni school that was requiring children to participate in the ancient sage-burning purification ceremony called “smudging.” The school brought members of an indigenous Canadian tribe called the “Nuu-chah-nulth” for the purpose of cleansing the children’s spirits. Mandatory prayers were offered as the children were taught pantheistic philosophies. [1] Smudging is also embraced by Native Americans. The Nuu-chah-nulth people taught the children that “everything is one, all is connected and everything has a spirit.” They told the kids that unless all negative energy was cleansed that the school would be unsafe. The children were forced to hold a branch in their hands while smoke from a sage plant swept over their bodies and spirit cleansing them. This is the same spirit of paganism that caused the nation of Israel to build a golden calf in the wilderness. This is pure spiritualism and barbarism and is causing school children to reject Christianity and embrace paganism. Pantheism is literally exploding as we see a revival of pagan teachings in our Western culture today." It is just so wrong on so many levels to write off the entire race of Canadian Indigenous Peoples as "pagan" and then comparing them to the people in the Bible that made "a golden calf in the wilderness." The first of many questions I would have for Handy Andy is just how on earth does he think he would ever be able to preach "the everlasting gospel" to anyone, after publicly, and rather forcefully talking about them the way he did? He showed a bunch of mumbo-jumbo from other countries as "proof" of whats "really" going on here in Canada. I have lived with Indigenous people several times during my life. Once was for personal reasons, the other two were for work-related reasons. I know for a fact that Canada's Indigenous Peoples do not fit his Gnostic Expressivism that he calls "the gospel." Ill post more on this in the other topic that I started about history & sociology of church in Canada. All I can say now is a question: Are we, The Adventist Church, or any other church, morally defensible when we publicly stigmatize, and disparage, an entire race because of what we think they believe? Is it morally defensible for any of us to "defend" truth by drumming up kniving quotes from Ellen G White to "prove" how deranged and irreligious another, entire race "really is?" Projecting a very prejudiced racism like this is no way to share the gospel with anyone. Perhaps this is what we should be more worried about? In meta-ethics, expressivism is a theory about the meaning of moral language. According to expressivism, sentences that employ moral terms – for example, "It is wrong to torture an innocent human being" – are not descriptive or fact-stating; moral terms such as "wrong", "good", or "just" do not refer to real, in-the-world properties. The primary function of moral sentences, according to expressivism, is not to assert any matter of fact, but rather to express an evaluative attitude toward an object of evaluation.[1] (From English Wikipedia). I go to the Vatican web sites only if I want to "prove" something. Glad you are back Gustave! I thought you were missing in action or something. I've been involved in a lengthy matter that had taken up more of my free time than I would have liked - but, it was for a most excellent cause. Yes, ecumenical relationships. This is something I have very little knowledge of however I will share what little I think about it. In Acts 17 we read of how Paul and Silas were essentially bounced out of Thessalonica and again out of Berea. Ultimately Paul & the others get to Athens where he observed; "The city wholly given to idolatry" The Jews in Athens accused Paul of preaching strange god's because he spoke of Jesus and the Resurrection - they end up taking him to the "Rock of Ares" (hardly a site of Jewish devotion) where Paul observed many devotions to many god's. Among the multiple Kiosk (essentially what this was) Paul noticed that the Greeks had set up a Kiosk dedicated to a god that perhaps they didn't know about, an unknown to them God. Paul uses that as a springboard to present the Gospel. Paul would not have gotten very far if he would have offended everyone there and I'm pretty sure in passing through this area Paul would have been given worthless trinkets or other such things (perhaps incense smoke) from devout people who believed in this or that. Paul would not have offended these people - he would have to Greeks "became a Greek" for the point of sharing the truth of Christ. It may sound offensive to many folks but the fact is that after the Resurrection of Christ the Liturgy performed in the Jewish Temple became "Paganism" and was no more pertaining to Salvation than offering a sacrifice to Zeus or Ares yet there are examples of Apostles participating in these "dead" or "condemned" Liturgical practices. I think (as in its reasonable to believe) something like that was going on in part of the sage ritual. Now to be very clear seeing stuff like that causes my eyebrows to be raised as well. For Christians (who are privileged compared to pagans to be sure) to see this kind of activity its easy to be slighted and offended but who should be the focus here? The people who already have the truth or those people who need to be exposed to it? At the end of the day I very seriously doubt the Pagans left thinking that because those Catholics in some way participated in their religious beliefs that those same Catholics thought sage burning was better than the Mass or any other part of their religion. I've seen (and posted examples) of SDA's participating in Islamic worship as well as articles in the Church Papers praising the merits of Islam. Does this mean that the General Conference has admitted that Islam is right that the Trinity Doctrine is bunk or that Islam is better than SDAism? I don't think so. I think at the end of the day its just another example of one religion attempting to get close enough to another religion to share it's beliefs while not offending the other religion of their beliefs. But again, what I'm saying is NOT official Catholic Church teaching because frankly I've not devoted much time into the study of this aspect - it just seems reasonable. Quote

There is a certain advantage to be an independent group. When you are independent with a lot of members you have better control of yur own church. If you agree to have a pastor from the conference, what then follows is you sign over deeds to your church to be kept in trust. The downside to this is the conference can come in anytime they feel you are not behaving in the way the conference deems appropriate and shut you down and lock up your church. This has happened. The other thing is the conference will say who can and cannot preach in your church. when Doug Batchelor andStephen Bohr are banned from preaching in an SDA church there is a serious problem. 21 hours ago, BlessedMan said: In case you have not figured it out, I am really upset at someone calling Canada's Indigenous Peoples "paganism," and the like. If Christianity is banned from schools, then so should every other religion. and THAT makes total sense to me. Canada has a serious problem in that area. Its why I said in the other topic related to this that Canada has never really had any separation of church & state. History shows this clearly. The other thing that it shows clearly are the harmful, and malicious ways & means that we keep calling "evangelism. And I am not trying to single out a particular church here, but THE RCs have done an enormous amount of damage to society in general with "evangelism," and what really bothers me is that they are intensifying and doubling down on these very same things that history shows regarding how to "evangelize" all of those "savages." I am well aware of all the apologetics that reflect on how "Protestants do it too," but that idea no longer answers any questions of any significant points at all. "Apologies" and "letting" people do their smudging, when the whole time they are waiting to whack them with the evangelism stick just has a really nasty flavor to it. IMO the Elder Andy guy contributes to that. I like the points you made. Didnt mean to flip my wig, but it did rekindle an old flame of "righteous indignation" or whatever one wishes to call it. (Phil 2:3) I will rest my case on this scripture, for now. phkrause 1 Quote (2 Cor 1:3-4) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. The people who already have the truth or those people who need to be exposed to it? By the time you finish reading this post, and review the videos, I hope that you will see why I have spoken out against the "Elder" at The Eternal Gospel Church." Some notes on The Church Of Rome In Canada will inform us of such things as the following: Quote "The basic organizational structure of the Catholic Church is diocesan. Each diocese, under its own Bishop, is responsible for its own pastoral outreach and ministry, and each diocese is the essential and primary pastoral agent in the lives of all Catholics, including Indigenous peoples. It is the local Bishop who knows best the needs and situation of the First Nations, Inuit and Métis who may be in his diocese. In addition to the outreach and pastoral ministry by the local diocese, many Canadian Catholic religious communities, men and women, continue to work with Indigenous peoples. Their services have traditionally included education and health care, as well as a pastoral presence." (Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops - The Catholic Church in Canada and Indigenous Peoples, pg 2) They get around the obvious issues here by saying the following on pg 4-5 of the same document. This is the "gold-standard" of their "apologetics;" and comes complete with "apologies" while the whole time they are still, even now, doubling down on the very same "evangelism" that first brought about this nightmare to Canada: Quote “The story of Christianity in the Americas is not a leyenda negra, a ‘black legend’, but neither is it an impeccable tale of glory. Indeed, as Pope John Paul II has noted, the evangelizing process over the years was uneven and limited. If there were bishops and missionaries championing aboriginal rights, there were also theologians and Church leaders defending colonial exploitation. While some missionaries attempted to protect and understand native cultures, others failed to value native beliefs and customs as seeds of the Word of God. There were popes and missionaries who attacked the slave trade, while other Church leaders and religious people, (Protestants) were always quite prepared to accommodate slavery, or worse, with no questions asked." I wonder if The Canadian Conference Of Catholic Bishops has the following videos in their library? Quote We Were Children is a 2012 Canadian documentary film about the experiences of First Nations children in the Canadian Indian residential school system. Directed by Tim Wolochatiuk and written by Jason Sherman, the film recounts the experiences of two resident school survivors: Lyna Hart, who was sent to the Guy Hill Residential School in Manitoba at age four, and Glen Anaquod, who was sent to the Lebret Indian Residential School in Saskatchewan. We Were Children combines interviews with the two with dramatic recreations of their experiences.[2][3][4] According to Hart, her participation in the film marked the first time she had shared the full story of her time in the school. She has stated she regards her involvement in We Were Children as a key step in her healing process.[2] Anaquod died in 2011 before the film's completion; a private screening of the film was held for his family.[3] Lyna Hart died in 2015 after the release of the film. The film was shot in Manitoba, in Winnipeg, St-Pierre-Jolys and at the former Portage residential school, now the Rufus Prince building, in Portage la Prairie. It was produced by Kyle Irving for Eagle Vision, Loren Mawhinney for eOne Television, and produced and executive produced by David Christensen for the National Film Board of Canada. The executive producer for the Eagle Vision was Lisa Meeches, whose parents and older siblings were sent to residential schools.[2][3][6] Meeches, who spent over seven years travelling across Canada to collect residential school survivors' stories for the Government of Canada, has stated that the idea for the film originated from a discussion she'd had at the Banff World Media Festival.[7] It was Meeches who approached director Wolochatiuk with the project.[8] CBC Manitoba reporter Sheila North Wilson assisted the production by translating material in the script from English to Cree.[9] SOURCE Sleeping Children Awake by Magic Arrow Productions Quote Sleeping Children Awake (SCA) was shot in 1991 and televised in 1992. It was one of the earliest independent, feature length documentaries to be broadcast on the crucial subject of the Residential School System . SCA won several awards including "Best Canadian Documentary 1993" (CanPro) and was screened at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's national events held in Winnipeg, Manitoba 2010, and Saskatchewan 2012. We can notice in this video that at the 8:20 mark, the narrator said "at that time the Church demanded complete control over every aspect of the children's lives," and this IS the very same voice we are hearing regarding the purported solutions for "climate change." (more on that in another post).
