Microsoft updete KB 45242444 is causing major problems.  Do not use it under any conditions.  If you have already installed it you must remove it.

The problems that this causes are major.   I have spent hours attempting to fix my two (2) computers   that had  this update.  Finally I had to call on my son who is a former Microsoft Intern and presently a software engineer to work on my computers.

Presently, my desk top seems to be fixed, and my laptop is at a place where I can use it, but I will likely work on it more tomorrow.

In any case, Microsoft has recalled that software, it was so bad.

My  wife received a notice from Microsoft regarding the bad update.  That was helpful to our son and I as we worked on the problems.  If I can find that Microsoft release, I will post it.  If any of you find that release, please post it.

The Internet is reporting similar problems with  KB 4532693.   It has also been reported that this update is actually deleting important files from your computer.

Microsoft has acknowledged minor errors connected to the Windows Server with this update.

My position:  Be very careful about this update until it can be determined what It is actually doing to your computer.

For some reason neither my wife or grand sons PCs have been asked to update or that there was an update?? Funny because there laptops are setup to notify them of any? I'll have to check there computers when I get a chance!! Thanks for all the info. I know my mac is always getting notifications for updates and it updates all the time. But these are usually minor ones.
