COVID-19 Today

I have a son who is employed in Silicon valley as an  engineer.  Due to the COVID-19 virus, the company for which he works has had to return its employees to the U.S. from China.  He works at a site near where he lives that has 400+ people working at that site.  The company has now decided to send those employees home and tells them to work from home.

So, he called us yesterday and said he would attempt to work from our place, as he often does when he visits.  He wanted to know if we could set him up in some additional space as he was going to bring  some additional equipment with him that he would need to set up.  When we asked him what he would be bringing, he informed us that he normally worked with six (6) desktop computers and two (2) laptop computers at his workspace and he would probably come with all of them!   The computers are a mixture of Apple and PC types.

I do not know if we have the bandwidth to handle it.  But, we shall see.

Well, he arrived late Sunday, with six computers. We set him up and he put in a full day of work Monday.  He told us that he has no problems with our limited bandwith.

He said that he first had some type of a problem that I do not understand.  But, he was able to fix it.

As a point of interest:  He normally works with a group of engineers on site where some 400+ people are employed.  However,  some engineers in his group are located elsewhere and always work offsite.
