Can You Solve?

Can you solve the following?  Every statement of mine is true.  Nothing that I say is false.

*  On one military assignment, I was stationed in Panama.

*  My office looked out on the Pacific side of the canal locks.

*  One day I walked to the pavement of Southern side of the Pacific locks.

*  With my feet never leaving tha pavement, I walked to the other side of the Panama Canal.  IOW, I was not in a vehicle of any kind and I was not in any kind of a boat.  I was not in an aircraft.

*  At that time, the canal was full of water.

*  How is it that I was able to walk from one side of the canal to the other side.

Isn't there a foot bridge that crosses over the canal?

I suspect that one could walk across the top of the gates of the locks when they are closed for raising or lowering the water levels..

The answer is:   I walked from one side to the other underneath the canal locks!

Yes, it can be done.
