Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted April 22, 2020 Moderators Posted April 22, 2020 If you are interested in Bible/Christianity study the Logos Company has resources that will help you in your study. They offer a basic set of resources free of charge at: https://www.logos.com/basepackages For people that want more their packages begin at $50 and end at several thousand dollars. I suggest that all consider the free set. In addition to general sets for all Christians they have specific denominational sets, including SDAs, Catholics and more. Quote Gregory

I also recommend using Logos 8 but I assume that there are some other packages that are similar, such as e-Sword which also offers many free books. Also many resources are available online, such as Bible Hub. I purchased a few Logos packages when they were available on CDs, and these were discounted at the time. To purchase many of the individual books included in these packages is very expensive, and the present packages can also be expensive and provide many books that may not be of interest. I have also purchased numerous denomination specific books and magazines not mentioned on the Logos page. These were CD packages that were prepared for running under Logos. More recent electronic books and magazines are usually offered as pdf, and this does not normally run under Logos. Also one of the sisters in our fellowship prepared over 100 books that run in the “Personal Books” feature of Logos. These are essentially MSWord documents, but with some editing to run smoothly under Logos. The Logos 8 features that I like: Once registered, any book that you own is recognised as your property and is preserved in the Logos online database. When an update is made to an individual book by Logos, then this is updated automatically on your computer. If you have another computer, then the books will automatically be loaded onto this second or more computers. I like the Note facility available. You can make your own notes and these appear as a separate page and also as a pop-up next to the verse. This is similar in effect to a Wide Margin Bible. These Notes are also preserved on the Logos database and are automatically transferred to your second computer. I have a PC and a laptop. Unfortunately, normally the Personal Books only reside on your first computer and are not located on the Logos database. Care is needed to preserve your copy of these books, e.g. by backup. These books if loaded on your PC are not transferred to your laptop. Kind regards Trevor Quote
