Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted June 25, 2006 Moderators Posted June 25, 2006 Most people who read my posts know that I am neither a perfect speller nor typer. [NOTE: I made two errors in the previous sentence.] IESpell is a great help which I have discovered. It is free, and can be located by simpling plugging "IESpell" into an Internet search engine such as Google. It is also very easy to use. As one is entering the text into an Internet box such as I am doing now, one simply clicks on "Tools" at the top of the screen. Then click on "IESpell" in the menu. For spelling challenged people such as I, it is a real blessing. I intend to use it. Some of you may also want to check it out. Quote Gregory
cricket Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 Learning to type properly will help some as well. My daughter is enrolled in a computer applications course this summer. She's been in it for two weeks and has already improved her typing skills from 43 wpm to 52 wpm. There's still one more week to go. Quote
Moderators Nan Posted June 25, 2006 Moderators Posted June 25, 2006 Is there the option of American and British/Oz English? And yes, Cricket, learning keyboard skills should be taught in all schools. My children went to school in NZ and everyone sat for basic typing skill exams (Pitmans). I have been so grateful to the extra hours I put in, at high school, when typing was not one of my required subjects, to learn a little. Still not expert but I can keep up with typing my patient interviews directly into the computer. Quote

Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted June 26, 2006 Author Moderators Posted June 26, 2006 Yes, there is an option for British English, but the programs comes set to U.S. English. Simply click on the "Options" button, and make that change, as well as others. Yes, this program only works with Internet Explorer. Quote Gregory

Administrators Gail Posted June 27, 2006 Administrators Posted June 27, 2006 Greg, does this mean that gone are the days that you spell church like, "chruch"? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted June 27, 2006 Author Moderators Posted June 27, 2006 Yes, that was a very common typing error of mine. Now, all I have to do is remember to spell check. But, I am generally doing that now, with an occasional forget. I just hope you-all love me anyway. Quote Gregory

Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted June 27, 2006 Author Moderators Posted June 27, 2006 You will probably still see some of the same. I have IESpell installed on my computer at home. But, not on this computer that I am using now. Quote Gregory
