Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted October 1, 2020 Moderators Posted October 1, 2020 I have a personal physician friend who is currently advising governmental officials on the COVID-19virus. Due to his positon, I can not identify him. However, I asked him about small family gatherings in view of the virus. HIs response to me, made today, is below: I do think it’s possible to have a small family gathering in the age of the virus, if you are really disciplined and very careful. I tend to describe things this way: Place – outdoors is better than indoors (if you’re indoors, the distance rule below is even more important); Space – at least 6 foot distances need to be maintained between folks who are not in the same household (this is hard in families, since everyone really wants to hug each other); Pace – the longer the time you spend together, the greater the risk becomes (this is mitigated to a large degree by the masks and distances); Face – face coverings need to be warn at all times when you’re not eating or drinking; Hygiene – frequently wash hands or use hand sanitizer whenever you are touching objects that may be shared. Drinks should be in individual cans/bottles that are not touched by others, and food should be either delivered on individual plates or served on individual plates by one server who is practicing strict hygiene – no potlucks or sharing of utensils. If you can do this, I believe the risk of transmission is really low. phkrause 1 Quote Gregory

Dr. Shane Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 Our church has decided to reopen in a couple of weeks and we are trying to decide, as a family, if we will return. I think, psychologically, it is important for my wife and daughter. I think we need to invest in some N95 masks. We sanitize our hands almost obsessively so we are good with that. phkrause 1 Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
CyberGuy Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 There is many side effects to the liberal lockdowns due to covid 19. 1. Suicides among teens tripled in many states. 2. spousal abuse on the rise 3. Child abuse on the rise 4. crime and murders and burgleries on the rise as people get fed up with being locked down and unemployment. When the california lockdown was announced. I saw people stocking up on water toilet paper and large amounts of alcohol products. carts of alcohol. One can see how the problems this creates as people sit getting drunk during the lockdows. Doctors are telling us that sitting at home and not socializing creates depression and long term effects that could be felt for years. Like weight gain and heart disease due to lack of excercise and not getting out to excercise Now California is about to go into a major lockdown once more. Already teachers are saying kids are falling behind in learning as teaching by Zoom just is not as good as onsight person to person learning. We are going to have a lost generation here some teachers fear who lose one to two years of learning advancement due to covid lockdowns Quote Riverside CA
CyberGuy Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 As far as Thanksgiving. We had 12 people. 2 brothers and myself and my mom and their families and my moms brother who brought two friends. To cold to be outside and social distancing was not possible and no we did not wear masks. No one got sick. Everyone is well. No problems. We cannot hide in our rooms and hide like scared children from this thing. God created us to be social creatures. I firmly believe this is an attack of Satan on the church. Churches were the first to be banned from meeting. Offerings are way down and many churches cannot meet their obligations. Schools enrollment are down 30to 40 percent. Massive teacher layoffs. All hourly workers laid off in many schools. All due to the liberal governors orders to not meet. In our family and church. We have had 1 church member get covid from her sons girlfriend. She recovered fine. in my extended family I have had two nieces get covid one from her son and no one else got covid in the family. One niece and her husband got covid from work. They all recovered nicely with no more ill effects than from the common flu. So I wonder if the lockdowns will have worse side effects socially like rise and sucide murders and abuse in the home due to the lockdowns than if we did not have the lockdowns. Other countries in the tropics are not effected as bad. Why because the use of Hydro chloquin is high. The malaria drug the press put down because President Trump advocated it. Doctors have spoken out that the use of this drug does prevent the massive side effects of Covid 19 but because President Trump spoke in favor of it the press bans it. My wife had her facebook LIKE flagged by facebook as fake news and all she did was LIKE a pro Hydro chloroquin post. Really Sad. Stan 1 Quote Riverside CA

CyberGuy Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 California is going into another lockdown. What does that mean. salons and barbershops shut down. Zoos and amusement parks shut down. Including miniture golf courses. Out side dining banned. Only takeout allowed outside churches still ok but with masks and six feet apart. playgrounds shut down. Parks ok but no picnic areas allowed. and at only 20 percent capacity no get togethers from anyone outside people that live in your own house. Even own family. Good luck with enforcing that. Our local sheriff said he will not enforce these orders as his deputies have real crime to fight rather than harrass citizens who are just trying to make a living and visit family Citizens are angry and talk is loud about recalling the governor Newsome.
