Members phkrause Posted October 10, 2020 Members Posted October 10, 2020 Whitey Ford, Yankees legend and Hall of Famer, dies at age 91 Whenever Whitey Ford strode to the mound during his lengthy Yankees career, he exuded a calm, cool cockiness no matter the stakes. The bigger the game, the better he performed, which made him not only the winningest pitcher in Yankees history but one of the most respected. https://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/yankees/whitey-ford-dead-1.50032097 Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Theophilus Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 I used to love watching the Yanks. They came to KC Municipal auditorium and I got to get real close to Mantle. (That was back when Kansas City team was the Kansas City Athletics, before Finley sold them to Oakland.) Whitey Ford was great. They all were. phkrause 1 Quote
