cricket Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 We did this "experiment" in our car!! Actually, it was all quite by accident. My son loves Mentos. He was drinking a Dr. Pepper and one accidentally dropped from his mouth to the bottle. Our next stop on our drive was my sister's place so he got to wear her clothes home!! Now, on purpose, we've tried this experiment a couple of times with the pathfinder club. We were able to shoot a stream of soda up to 18 feet. It is best done outside! Quote

cricket Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 Our resident "expert" mentos/diet coke experimenter visited us today. For best results make sure the soda is warm--not chilled. Use at least 7 mentos (drop them in all at the same time). Diet coke is best so that the clean-up is not so sticky. Quote

And if we could have gotten more mentos in before the reaction started it would have been even better. Couldn't get them in fast enough. Quote
