The bottom line is tha the best of health occurs in the context of healthful living.  This included eating a healthy diet, exercise and taking care of one's emotional and spiritual health.

But it must be remembered that healthful living, sooner or later, will include teh services of physicians and medications.

*  Our bodies are not, in this life, programed to live forever.  They are programed to eventually die.  Death is simply a natural process of life.  One might say that our bodies do wear out with age.

*  The services of our physicians will never keep us alive forever.  That will only happen in eternity as a gift of God.

*  As a result of the natural process of aging, I have Age Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD).  I receive regular care from clinical specialists in that condition.  As part of that care, I take twice a day a proscribed vitamin pill that has been proven to help maintain the eyesight for people with that condition.  In addition, I also take a proscribed medication that also is demonstrating an improvement in my eyesight.  This medication is only administrated as needed.  My eyesight is regularly tested.  IF I need another dose of the medication, I am given it.  If I do not need it, It is not administered.

 *  W hen I see a new physician for the first time,  I inform that doctor that I will only take a treatment/medicaiion of I can be convinced that such is necessary.  I am only told that is a good approach to medicine.

*  Recently a physician recommended that I take a medication for a condition that had developed.  I agreed to take it  on a trial basis, ad administered in a very small dose.  After a short period of time I informed the doctor that I no longer wished to take it.  So, he agreed that I should stop.

*  A while back I fell and broke a bone in my left hand.  As I met with the surgeon, I was informed that I had three options, starting with doing nothing and allowing the body to heal the fracture itself, and ending with a surgical reconstruction.  I chose the surgery, and my hand was rebuilt very well.  I have about 95% return to natural function.  Much better than the other two options.

*Natural remedies and healthful living are an important part of living healthfully. but, traditional clinical services are also a part of living the good life.

NOTE:  My age places me in the 8th decade of my life.  My body today is not what it was in my 20s.  But, I am as healthy as I am due to good living.
