Dr. Shane Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I heard Secretary of State Rice today say the State Department decided to waive the $150 fee for US citizens to get on the boat leaving Lebanon. She said they decided to go the extra mile for US citizens. Extra mile? <img src="/adventist/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> I would think that many of those US citizens have spent the funds they have trying to survive there this past week. If I were there, I would expect the State Department to get me out and not be asking for a ticket when I got on board. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Neil D Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Heard on the news last night that the Aussies got gyped out of a ship. I also heard that the ship owners were selling passages to the highest bidder....Doesn't look good for the Aussies... If the US is forgoing the $150 for leaving Lebanon, I am concerned that they are selling passages to the highest bidder also.... If that is the case, here is conservative econmics at work for you....I and my family would be stuck there in Lebanon if we were to have gone there instead of Aussieland.... Dr. Shane Posted July 20, 2006 Author Posted July 20, 2006 I am not sure I follow the concern. The US is evacuating US citizens. I would hope they are not evacuating anyone other that US citizens until all US citizens that want to be evacuated have been. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor...
