Still Waters Run Deep

[:"green"] A person’s calm exterior often conceals great depths of character, just as the deepest streams can have the smoothest surfaces. [/]

[:"blue"] something that you say which means people who say very little often have very interesting and complicated personalities. [/]

[:"purple"] STILL WATERS RUN DEEP - "Don't be fooled by appearances. Quiet people are likely to be passionate or complex, even though they don't show it. The proverb has been traced back to 'Cato's Morals' (about 1400) in 'Cursor Mundi' (1873). In 1721, it was included in James Kelly's collection of proverbs. It was first attested in the United States in the 1768 'Works of William Smith,' (1803)." From "Random House Dictionary of Popular Proverbs and Sayings" (1996) by Gregory Y. Titelman (Random House, New York, 1996). [/]

Is it true?

Not faulting any of the quiet, however the Scripture only says slow to speak, not to be confused with speechless. In fact I remember one person in which speechless seemed to be a very strong evidence of failure.

[:"red"] "Open your mouth for the speechless, In the cause of all who are appointed to die." [/]

Proverbs 31:8 NKJV

[:"red"] "And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless." [/] Matthew 22:12 KJV

[:"red"] "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony" [/]

Revelation 12:11 KJV

However, to give balance___

[:"red"] "To everything -- a season, and a time to every delight under the heavens:...

A time to be silent, And a time to speak.

" [/] Ecclesiastes 3:7
