Are Adventists forbidden from eating meat, especially pork?

The SDA Chruch does not forbid people from eating meat.  On an International basis, probably the majority of SDA members do eat meat.

The SDA Chruch does ask the people note eat pork products.  However, it does not send police into homes to read labels on their food products.
