cricket Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Today was spent on the Meramec River with a group of about 20 from our local church. We were 90 miles away from home and very much out of touch with most of our regular way of life. Before taking off on our float trip, my daughter and I wandered off to the ladies room. I opened the door and inside the room were 4 or 5 young ladies--none of whom I'd ever seen before. One of them was wearing a tee-shirt that read "CollegeView Trailblazers". Something struck familiarity with me and I asked the girls if they were Adventist. Much to our surprise, they were! In retrospect, the other girls didn't seem very much surprised at all. Then it occured to me, they come from an area in Nebraska where Adventists are commonplace. We come from an area where Adventists are scarcer than a St. Louis snowfall in July! Quote
Halfstep Denise Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Like you I had a restroom Adventist connection experience! In the early 1970's, I was attending a business college in the middle of Hollywood, California. A new classmate came over to me while in the ladies room. She asked if I was an Adventist. I said yes. She then said that her grandmother had just seen me in the lobby and said I looked like an Adventist! <img src="/adventist/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> I sure hope she meant that as a compliment! The classmate and I had an instant connection. I've since lost track of her, but it was an interesting experience.
