Local Shortages?

Recommended Posts

My local facebook is showing milk out of stock and very low on some other products. That has to be a first. Wonder how severe this will get?  Something we are not use to in the U.S.

Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this.

Here in Northern California toilet-paper is often in short supply and that has been so for months.

My wife and I help out in a ministry to homeless.  (This is in addition to our work in delivering food to needy people.)  One of the things that we do is attempt to provide rolls of toilet-paper to the homeless.  There is a real need here.

Actually it happens every time they tell us a hurricane is on its way! During the lock-down it was really ridiculous!! And right now Walmart has had a problem keeping certain items in stock, but I have notice that other stores seem to not have a problem keeping there selves stocked!!

We dont have hurricanes in Mn. The lock down during the pandemic was a little different than what is going on now. Went to the hardware store to get supplies that I frequently use. Out of stock and has been for several weeks. It is best to call ahead and see if the smaller stores are open as they often cut their hours. This is not business as usual

In the midwest United States, we're seeing very few shortages. Gas prices have slowly increased, now over $3.00 per gallon. Housing prices have increased substantially and sales are quicker than usual. Some of the few shortages we see have to do with replacement computer/cell phone parts. Toilet paper is limited to one package per person, but the shelves are not empty. In a local neighborhood on-line group, I have read that our local grocery stores have been warned that salt and other products used in preserving foods will begin rationing, but I've not read any reports of this elsewhere.

There are many locally owned restaurants and specialty shops that have closed due to staffing shortages and unwillingness to continue business with limited supplies; many owners are choosing early retirement.

It seems to depend on where you are located. Our cummunity forum is pretty reliable about info shared. Close friends of ours shopping at another wal mart last week confirmed some empty shelves. I went this morning to our main grocery to pick up a few items I was low on. I was able to buy what I needed but for a few items I and another shopper were fortunate to each be able to buy one. Then the product was gone. I am  in Mn and we have been paying in excess of 3.00 a gal . Fast food places have cut hours many times, at times because of shortages and times no workers.Dollar stores are also struggling for both reasons.  Our local hardware store is really struggling and supplies are in very short supply. At least locally it does not seem to just gossip
