GHansen Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Around 100 years ago, in Asia, an SDA pastor/evangelist suffered a moral fall. He sought forgiveness. It was likely granted; however, reemployment was not. Not to be thwarted, he went back to work as a pastor/evangelist. He started his own denomination. Today, it consists of several thousand congregations, millions of members throughout the world. I attended a meeting in Sacramento. Nice people. The church is known as the Iglesia ni Christo, sometimes referred to as Iglesia ni Manalo. "Iglesia ni Cristo (Inc) — tagalog for ‘Church of Christ’ — is one of the largest and most powerful religious movements in the Third World." Apologetics Index Some people don't give up simply because they have lost their salary and benefits, including eyeglass rider and dental. Quote

I don't think he would've lasted a long time as an Adventist pastor " INC teaches that its members constitute the "elect of God" and there is no salvation outside the Iglesia ni Cristo.[20][42] Faith alone is insufficient for salvation" Quote
GHansen Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Only know what I was told by someone who knew both him and his son. A brief internet search uncovers a lot of dirt; nevertheless, he did start a denomination with a lot of members. Most of us struggle to win a single soul. He started an entire denomination with more than 2 million [?] members in the Philippines alone, in spite of accusations of immorality. Quote
