You can see whats left of a plume still venting. We have had 3 earthquakes of 3.5 this weekend and this caused venting and rock fall. Just never know what she's going to do from day to day.

I lived in Seattle in 1980 when she blew. That is a fine childhood memory <img src="/adventist/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I spent some of my childhood summers up at Spirit Lake at the Boy Scout Camp (my father was Camp Director). I can STILL remember all the Indian legends of Patoh (Mt Adams), LooWitLatKa (Mt St Helens) and WyEast (Mt Hood). And the Bigfoot legends too!!

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

No serious damage. Many reports of bookcases, lamps etc going over. Lots of reports of animals going nuts prior to the first quake. I woke up during the first one as it was at like 1:30am. But I didnt know what woke me at the time. I remember waking and saying "what"? and then looking at the clock and going back to sleep. LOL

That is SO true. I lived in Denver at the time - and our cars were covered with ashes - and our air was so hazy we could hardly see or breath. I can imagine how it was in WA state.

It was bad here in WA state with the ash. At the time I was living in Othello WA and the Ash was bad. I can remember having to work at clean some of the ash arround my grandparents house up. I remeber how the clouds looked and how fast it got dark. So dark you could not see you hand in front of your face.

Hi, Amelia!

In 1979, I became an employee of Glendale Adventist Medical Center. Part of the orientation included a presentation and printed material from the Chaplain's office. One of the booklets was "God and Human Suffering". I put it in my GAMC file.

After the horrible eruption of Mount St. Helens,, I happened to be looking through my employment file. When I saw the cover of that booklet "God and Human Suffering" I gasped. There was a picture of Mt. St. Helens and Spirit Lake in pristine condition!

I vaguely remember my family visiting the area in the early 1970's and being impressed by the beauty of the mountain and lake.
