Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted February 8, 2022 Moderators Posted February 8, 2022 The following is an interesting religious liberty case that involved a SDA. It should be noted that probably many SDAs would have considered the work essential and been willing to work on Sabbath. In any case it illustrates the principle that U.S. law roots religious rights in the beliefs of the person and not that of the denomination. https://atoday.org/quest-diagnostics-settles-religious-discrimination-lawsuit-by-adventist-for-90000/ phkrause 1 Quote Gregory
Theophilus Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 Since they had allowed her the time off for 9 years, they just cant say no more. If it was Sabbath work from the get go, or maybe after a couple of times of not working on Sabbath, it would be OK. The result of this lawsuit looks good. phkrause 1 Quote
