What is it with this notion that "male" is to be defined by the most uncouth, barbaric, sexist, lowbrow, "bubba" traits unfortunately still found in some examples of the species, anyway? If I were a male I'd take serious exception to that garbage. What ever happened to the notion of the gentleman as the epitome of male nobility, anyway?

It still alive in some areas. He wasn't speacking for my husband either. My husband reads very well, he speaks just fine, and he learns very well and loves well too.

Granted, there's a certain "ruggedness" to men that is attractive and very male, but I think a man can and should be able to be "rugged" (hardy, capable, sturdy, strong, active, confident) without being uncouth or boorish.

Maybe that's what some of the guys think is missing: the more "rugged" aspects of manliness? (Just pondering here)
