Dr. Shane Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Chavez: Venezuela, Syria United vs. U.S.
Quote:
Venezuela, the United States' fifth-largest source of oil, has built close ties with Iran, Syria and other Mideast countries while its relations have grown tense with the U.S. and Israel. The U.S., meanwhile, has heavily criticized Syria for its involvement in Lebanon and cooperation with Hezbollah guerillas there.

Quote:
Earlier this month, Chavez compared Israel's attacks on Hezbollah militants in Lebanon to the Holocaust and withdrew Venezuela's ambassador to the Jewish state. Israel responded by recalling its ambassador to Venezuela, criticizing what it called Chavez's "one- sided policy" and "wild slurs." Asked about Chavez's visit to Syria, U.S. State Department spokesman Tom Casey said the leader should remind Damascus about its international obligations to prevent Hezbollah from receiving weapons. "We think what's important for anyone having discussions with the Syrian government to do is to emphasize the need for Syria to meet its international obligations," Casey said.

Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Parade Orange Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 what did Pat Robertson say? Quote All progress in the Spiritual Life is knowing and Loving GOD"there is non upon earth that I desire besides YOU" PS 73:25That perspective changes EVERYTHING-suffering and adversity are the means that makes us hungry for GOD. Disapointments will wean us away wordly occupations. Even sin(when repented of) becomes a mechanism to push us closer to HIM as we experience His Love and Forgiveness.
Dr. Shane Posted August 31, 2006 Author Posted August 31, 2006 Robertson apologizes for assassination call What amazes me is that if Chavez and others like him really believed their own rhetoric about the US being so aggresive, they wouldn't be out there saying what they are saying. I mean, if the US was really that aggressive, we could stomp Chavez out like a bug and have it done before breakfast is served. Moreover, if the US is such a threat, why does he sell us so much oil? BYW: I am not saying Pat Robertson was right. I am just saying that it would be silly to take Chavez seriously. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Members phkrause Posted August 31, 2006 Members Posted August 31, 2006 All these other countries complain about the USA but they all want our money. and when anything goes bad who do they ask for help? If all the US citizens decided not to travel abroad you can bet your bottom dollar they'd probably go under. pkrause Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.
