C/A is to be scandal free, gossip free etc

#229291 - Sun Sep 03 2006 10:27 AM Edit Reply Quote Quick Reply

I realize not all are going to like this, BUT this forum MUST be scandal free and gossip free.

Am I taking 'sides’ in one of the current ‘scandals’? NOPE.

Statements on the net often result in the presumption of guilt, with innocence having to be proven, instead of the other way around. Too many “what ifs” and “maybes" become facts as soon as they are posted. Lies become truth, and truth becomes lies.

If you have scandals or juicy gossip, true or false, please take them somewhere else.

Let us focus on saying things that inspire, encourage, and build up.

Stan,

I am most impressed that you have taken this stand. <img src="/adventist/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif" alt="" />

To paraphrase, a poster who recently asked, "Isn't this a Christian site?" Many have voiced this opinion of C/A over the years, and at times one has to wonder .............

Are these sort of things representative of Christian behavior? I certainly hope not! Can we imagine Heaven with this type of attitude being the "norm"? Who would want to spend eternity in such a place?

Do we want to fill our minds with negative thoughts. "As a man (woman) thinks in his heart, so is he (she)."

Often repeating the story using slightly different descriptive adjetives, and no names can be extremely detrimental because it 'wets the reader's appetite' for more "juicy" gossip.

Perhaps I am a majority of one, but I prefer to look on the positive side of life ... yes, we all have to deal with negative issues, finances, serious illness, death, depression ... no one is immune. We were born on a sinful planet and until Jesus returns in the Clouds Of Glory that is life on this old ball of mud. Even so come, Lord Jesus.

However, personally, the more inspiration, prayer and meditation which I dwell upon, and encouragement of the 'brothern', the easier it is to deal with negative issues.

There is a saying, "If you're not a part of the solution, you are a part of the problem"

Let's be an insiration to one another <img src="/adventist/images/graemlins/coolhello.gif" alt="" />

Thanks again,

Naomi

I am chiming in!

All progress in the Spiritual Life is knowing and Loving GOD

"there is non upon earth that I desire besides YOU" PS 73:25

That perspective changes EVERYTHING-suffering and adversity are the means that makes us hungry for GOD. Disapointments will wean us away wordly occupations. Even sin(when repented of) becomes a mechanism to push us closer to HIM as we experience His Love and Forgiveness.

I appreciate this alot Stan. If every person in their personal lives, in churches, in schools, committee meetings took such a stand, there would be a whole lot less wounded and broken people in this world.

Appreciate so much these comments, as well as all those who PM'ed and emailed me.

Just for the record, nobody made me do that, and there was not request by email, phone, verbal or written.

I have have seen the person who some of the threads were talked about, I did met him once, and all I said was 'nice to meet you' and I doubt if he would recognize me.

No lawyer told me to do that.

The legal counsel I use never comes to this forum, that I am aware of.

There is a personal blessing when a person stands up and does the right thing. (just my opinion)

Stan,

Doing the "right thing" is not always the easy or popular thing to do. I realize that this probably was a difficult message to post ... again, I commend you.

May you receive many blessings for standing up for decent behavior, I have known many professed non-christians who wouldn't participate in some of the things, in the past, which have been printed on this forum.

Courage,

Naomi
