Dr. Shane Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Jail Time For Stealing Food This is kind of an odd story. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted September 5, 2006 Moderators Posted September 5, 2006 The Denver news media reported yesterday that a local resident has been using the water from his washing machine to water his lawn for 14 years. The police have not told him that he faces a fine of $500 each time he does it again. He has pledged to stop. People on Denver water pay for the right to use water once. His once was to wash his clothes. He is not allowed to make a second use of that water that he has already used once. Quote Gregory
Dr. Shane Posted September 5, 2006 Author Posted September 5, 2006 I think Bravus was saying they are encouraged to reuse their water. We have a lot of neighbers that reuse their wash water to water the lawn. Right now we just have a dishwasher set up to irrigate but plan to hook up our washing machine too. Odd laws. Dottie Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Around here, there are signs on the islands of the highways that tell us not to drink the water, as it had been previously used. I think it is rain sewer water that has been treated enough to be used on plant material, but not enough to be potable. Denver ought to be glad that the man is using the water twice, not using city water to irrigate. He's just being "environmentally friendly"!! Quote

When I first read that I misread it as "to MOW his lawn" and have been sitting here for 5 minutes trying to figure out how on earth he did that. Quote "After such knowledge, what forgiveness?" -- T.S.
