CyberGuy Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 King Tut's Necklace: Astonishing Mystery When the tomb of King Tutankhamen was opened in 1923, one of the many items found with the boy king was a necklace. Amid the precious jewels in this necklace is an unusual yellow-green gem, conspicuously different from all the others. In 1996 in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, Italian mineralogist Vincenzo de Michele first spotted this odd gem and had it tested. It wasn't a precious stone at all. It was glass. But this is no ordinary glass. It is older than the earliest Egyptian civilization. The scientific sleuthing just produced more questions: Where did it come from? Who made it? Along with Egyptian geologist Aly Barakat, de Michele traced the mysterious stone's origins to a remote region of the Sahara Desert. Now there is an extraordinary new theory posited by the BBC Horizon program to explain the mystery stone and how it got into King Tut's necklace: It came from a meteorite. One thing is known for sure: Austrian astrochemist Christian Koeberl told the BBC that the glass was formed at a temperature so scorching hot it could only have come from a meteorite that slammed into the Earth. If that's the case, there should be signs of a visible impact, right? Maybe not. In 1908, a massive explosion flattened some 80 million trees in Tunguska, Siberia. Scientists determined it was an extraterrestrial object of some kind even though there was no sign of it or a crater anywhere. Now American geophysicist John Wasson, who closely studied the hit in Tunguska, thinks a similar aerial burst occurred in ancient Egypt. Some extraterrestrial object was so burning hot that when it collided with the desert sand, it turned the sand into glass. That's not such a farfetched idea. When the first atomic bomb was tested in a detonation in 1945 in New Mexico, it created a thin layer of glass on the sand. "But the area of glass in the Egyptian desert is vastly bigger," the BBC reports. "Whatever happened in Egypt must have been much more powerful than an atomic bomb." And the stone in King Tut's necklace is a souvenir of that explosion. Quote Riverside CA

CyberGuy Posted September 9, 2006 Author Posted September 9, 2006 There is another explaination. Did you ever read the book by Rene Noorenberg called. "Secret of the Lost Races". In the book Rene tells of the races right after the flood that came from Noahs ark that still had the Technology of the antediluvian races before the flood. One chapter dwelt with a Stories of flying machines in ancient scrips and of flaming arrows from from them. (Missiles?) and of huge explosions as bright as the sun. Nuclear explosions. There are evidence of ancient cities in the desert both in death valley in North america and in the China Gobi desert where there is cities that are destroyed and a vast sea of glass around them as if they were destroyed by intense heat. Sounds logical. It would be sound logic that Noah and his family would try to save as much as the technolgy as they could from the old world to the new one after the flood. It is natural that the leaders would keep that knowledge from the people as they would be like gods then. When they died off the technology would die with them. Quote Riverside CA
bevin Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 "Sounds logical" But doesn't sound likely. Rene Noorbergen wrote a book about EGW "Prophet of Destiny". He also wrote "NOSTRADAMUS PREDICTS THE END OF THE WORLD" and "Noah's Ark Found - The End of the Search" The guy writes fun fiction. As a verifier of facts, he is awful. http://www.skepticreport.com/mystics/atomicglass.htm
Quote:
Many kilometers south of Cairo and west of the fertile Nile valley there are mysterious deposits of yellow-green glass among the sand dunes of the Libyan Desert. This Libyan desert glass, as the substance has been named, was discovered in 1932 by Englishman Patrick Clayton, a geologist who was conducting a survey of the Egyptian desert. Clayton must have been surprised when the tires of his jeep first crunched over a piece of glass. The fifty kilograms of the glass that Clayton carried back with him mystified and enchanted geologists for generations. Libyan desert glass is transparent to translucent and often contains trails of small bubbles, wispy white deposits, and black swirls. There is nothing else, geologically, quite like it. When fairly pure, the yellow-green glass has a gem-like quality. Indeed, two geologists recently spotted a sample of Libyan desert glass among the jewels of King Tutankhamen at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The glass had been carved into the shape of a scarab, a central jewel in a large breastplate. The jewel had previously been classified as chalcedony, a type of quartz. ... Unfortunately, there is no obvious meteorite crater near the Libyan desert glass site. Even recent computer analysis of a satellite data cannot detect evidence of a crater. Childress, of course, jumps to conclusions and claims that the lack of evidence of a meteorite crater implies that no meteorite existed. As a geochemist who is currently studying the properties of mid-oceanic ridge glasses, I am not so quick to jump to conclusions. There may be no sign of a crater, but there is other evidence that the Libyan desert glass was formed by a meteorite impact. [:"red"]For instance, there are high amounts of iridium, an element with low concentrations on Earth but high concentrations in many meteorites, in the Libyan desert glass samples[/]. The white deposit found in many of the samples is cristobalite, a high-pressure polymorph of quartz that is often found at sites of meteorite impacts. Even simpler than this, might it be possible that after 28 million years, it is a little difficult to detect evidence of a crater amidst giant, shifting sand dunes in a very remote part of Egypt?

I'll let you read the rest - it is fascinating /Bevin Quote
CyberGuy Posted September 10, 2006 Author Posted September 10, 2006 I admit the meteor theory is the most likely explaination about the origin of the Egyptian desert glass. Still Rene Noorenbergs theories are backed up by records and ancient texts in India and China and other countries. The people before the flood were not idiots. They lived 700 to 900 years and obviously had a one world government before the flood. They would have to have mastered electrical power. Ancient artifacts found in the Egypian tombs are pots with acid at the bottom with a metal rod in it. Put water in it and an electrical current of about six volts is produced. Obviously they had some knowledge of batteries 4000 years ago. Quote Riverside CA

"Idiots" in New Guinea, the Amazon, the Sahara, or where-ever "primitive societies" live tend to die before they can reproduce. The Bible does not require a world-wide flood. The physical evidence is all lined up against the weird world that is postulated by EGW and some Christians for the before-the-flood era, and the cultural evidence is strongly against it. A society would NOT loose the basic math and science concepts fast enough. For instance the idea that the earth is a sphere and goes around the sun simply makes so much sense once you know about it that it would be passed from generation to generation effortlessly. Instead we find the Greeks finally "getting it" 1000 years after the Exodus - and the Egyptians having absolutely wacky ideas about the sky. /Bevin Quote
Dr. Shane Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 "It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth" Isaiah 40:22 Great technology can be lost without explanation. Ancient Rome was built out of concrete and yet the recipe to make it was lost until the 19th century. Today it and steel are the two greatest construction materials we have. How it have been lost? Today we can't even build a house without it. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
