A shooting spree left 2 people dead and 3 injured in Lexington, Kentucky, on Sunday. The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, allegedly shot a state trooper during a traffic stop near the city’s airport, then fled the scene and carjacked another vehicle. He then drove to the Richmond Road Baptist Church about 15 minutes away and opened fire on people there. Two women, ages 34 and 72, were killed in the church shooting. Two men were injured; one is in critical condition and the other is stable. The wounded trooper is also in stable condition. Three responding officers shot the suspect, who was declared dead at the scene.

On Monday morning, a gunman opened fire in the valet area of a resort and casino in Reno, Nevada, leaving three people dead and several others wounded. The suspect then fled through the parking lot, where he fired on an innocent bystander, a resort security guard and the police. He was taken into custody and brought to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Later in the day, a second mass shooting occurred in midtown Manhattan. During rush hour, a gunman shot five people, killing four of them, inside a Park Avenue skyscraper that houses numerous corporate offices, including the NFL. The shooter was later found in a stairwell on the 33rd floor, dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.

Police say a mass shooting at Fort Stewart in Georgia on Wednesday allegedly began with a disagreement between two coworkers the day before. The suspect, who was identified as Sgt. Quornelius Radford, arrived at the base Wednesday morning and followed his colleague to a maintenance area and shot him with his personal gun before opening fire on four other soldiers, authorities said. The attack ended when other troops who witnessed the incident intervened and tackled the gunman. All five victims are in stable condition. Radford, 28, joined the Army in 2018 as an automated logistical specialist. Although he had not deployed to a combat zone nor had any known behavioral incidents on his military record, Radford was arrested for driving under the influence in May. CDC Attack Suspect

Authorities identified the suspect behind Friday’s shooting at the Atlanta headquarters for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The suspect, 30-year-old Patrick Joseph White from nearby Kennesaw, reportedly claimed to have suffered physical ailments as a result of the COVID-19 vaccine. His father reported him as suicidal to law enforcement hours before the attack.   The gunman was allegedly refused entry to CDC buildings before he posted up at a CVS facing the buildings shortly before 5 pm. He killed a police officer, 33-year-old David Rose, and struck at least four CDC buildings, damaging windows and exterior walls but not injuring employees. The suspect was found dead with a gunshot wound on the pharmacy’s second floor. It is not clear if he was killed by officers or died from a self-inflicted wound. Authorities found five guns at the scene of the crime, including at least one long gun.   The employees’ union called on senior leadership to publicly denounce misinformation and to increase security at the facility.
