The Answer Is1089!

I like watching magic shows.  People attempt to do a trick that you cannot explain and you remain awed and mystified.  Let me propose a math problem.  You will be free to choose numbers which you will not share with me.  In return I will tell you what the final answer is to the problem with the number that you have chosen.  The final answer to your problem will be 1089.

*  Pick a positive 3-digit number which I will call abc.   Note;  Your number will have three different digits.

* Subtract a reverse number from your first number.  IOW, Subtract cba from abc, which will give you a result that I will call I will call fgh.

*  After subtracting, if you have a negative number, simply make it a positive number which is fgh.

 * Now add the reverse of your number to your now positive number.  IOW:  To positive number fgh add positive number hgf.

* I predict that the final result will be the number 1089!
