I was just made aware of the death of Myron Wesley Shultz. He was the Principal at Blue Mtn Academy for many years, was also Principal of the former Cedar Lake Academy (now called Great Lakes Academy) and involved with the Industrial Arts dept. of Andrews University.

I remember his famous words to the students at events where the kids could disappear for inappropriate behaviour...

"The banana that leaves the bunch always gets peeled"

He sent me back to the dorm for some last minute trimming before our graduation ceremony practice because my sideburns were too long!

:) AHhh, so that was his quote!

We are known by our works and he certainly did his share as he understood it to educate, in the ways of our Lord, many young people

Having neat quotes like that is the mark of a good academy principal. Teaching the kids by way of clever phrases that stick in the memory.

He must have been a very good principal.
