[Photo courtesy Sanitarium Health Foods] An iconic cereal born from the Seventh-day Adventist church's health message is Australia's favorite trademark for the 100 years that nation has been registering brand names. Weet-Bix, produced by church-owned Sanitarium Health Food Company in Berkeley Vale, New South Wales, was voted the country's most cherished brand in a survey conducted by IP Australia, the federal agency that registers trademarks. The brand beat out nine others, including the Australian Broadcasting Corp. (ABC) television network; Arnotts biscuits; retailer David Jones; wine makers Penfolds; Qantas, the national airline; clothier RM Williams; Vegemite food spread; the Wallabies rugby team and the Woolmark brand of woolens. Moderators Nan Posted October 1, 2006 Moderators Posted October 1, 2006 I am glad it won...not through my direct support of the product I must confess, though some of the variations are more palatable. Sometimes the staple food of our childhood does not remain that in adulthood!! Quote
