"An elder of a Seventh Day Adventist Church disowned a “pastor” who was accused of sexually molesting an 11-year-old girl during a Bible Study session in a residence in Central Park, Davao City last September 13.

Gerry Bolos, an elder of the Three Angels Message Seventh Day Adventist, said the accused, Roque Cabunoc Sr., is not a pastor of their congregation but was a Bible worker of the Advent Hope Bible Sabbath Ministries based in sitio Mahayag, Zone 6, Cagayan de Oro City.

Cabunoc was indicted to the crime of acts of lasciviousness for allegedly fondling the breast of an 11-year-old girl at around 4:30 in the afternoon on September 13, 2006.

The victim said she was attending a Bible study at a neighbor’s house when the pastor sexually molested her in front of other participants by touching her breast.

The child revealed her ordeal to an aunt who immediately sought assis-tance from 911 Emergency Response center, resulting in the arrest of the suspect.

Bolos said Cabunoc reached Davao City through a certain Inday Corpuz, an officer of the Advent Hope Bible Sabbath Ministries, to conduct Bible studies in the neighborhood.

Bolos said along with his wife, Anita, Cabunoc and another Bible worker, Nick Otera, were booked at the parsonage of Three Angels Message Seventh Day Adventist.

Bolos said the group wanted to conduct house-to-house Bible studies under the control and supervision Joseph Baluyot, an officer of the Advent Hope Bible Sabbath Ministries, Inc."
