I did  contract work for several Department of Corrections institutions as well as local sheriffs. Some of the DOC employees are not only ignorant, they are stupid and even criminal themselves. DEI rules the hiring process; consequently, individuals of certain ethnicities are hired, even though management knows they are not qualified. Nurses fresh out of school, with no hospital experience, are hired. Dealing with sociopaths in prison requires a good deal of skill and awareness, something a new grad with no clinical experience lacks. Of course, there are highly skilled, experienced nurses employed. It only takes one incompetent to spoil the environment and endanger inmates and coworkers. Usually there are more than one. Obviously, the people on the execution teams are not highly competent, experienced individuals. A bullet is about as foolproof as executions can get. Some states are thinking of returning to the electric chair or gas due to the number of botched "medical" type executions. All it will take is one inmates  head exploding during electrocution to put the kibosh on that method. The videos I often see, possibly staged, show a bullet to the back or side of the head. Nobody survives that; however, I did see a patient who tried to commit suicide but missed. The gun was at the wrong angle and only damaged his brain. He was living in a nursing home at public expense when I saw him. Even a gun to the head is not foolproof when dealing with a certain class of people, the kind who might end up working for the Department of Corrections as DEI hires in "progressive" states.

Pike Speaks

Tennessee death row inmate Christa Pike is able to speak but cannot swallow or move her arms, her lawyers said yesterday. Her first words upon waking were reportedly, "Where am I, and who are you?" The comments come after two doses of pentobarbital injections failed to kill her last week (see write-up).  Pike, 50, is the first person known to have survived receiving a lethal injection. It is not yet clear how, though her lawyers had previously warned that she had a platelet disorder and small veins. The needle may have been improperly placed, or her vein may have blown, causing the drug to enter her arm as opposed to her bloodstream. Pike's lawyers say she contracted pneumonia and now has a blood clot and swollen arms. She was considered brain-dead Monday, but began speaking the next day, they say, hours before life support was due to be removed. Trying to execute Christa Pike again would push into uncharted legal territory, experts say Christa Pike’s prognosis remains uncertain after executioners last week tried to give her two lethal doses of pentobarbital, her legal team said Wednesday. What to know: Although other states have moved forward with attempting to execute inmates a second time, in those cases, the first try had been halted before any drug actually began flowing. Outgoing Republican Gov. Bill Lee’s office did not immediately respond to emails seeking comment on whether the state would try again to execute her.

Vance expresses doubts about Pentagon plan to livestream Fort Hood shooter’s execution

HEBRON, Ky. (AP) — Vice President JD Vance cast doubt Friday on whether the Pentagon will livestream the execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan in December but told reporters that if it is livestreamed, “I’m not going to be watching it.”
