B/W Photodude Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 A lot of articles that are getting posted here on ClubAdventist have nothing to do with the church or spiritual things. They largely seem to be a collection of progressive liberal news stories that you can find on your own if you do your own web search. Many of these articles could be answered by a conservative post rebutting what the original article was about. I personally don't wish to be involvement in any link war. I usually just watch the parade of these articles go by but one recent one came directly from a gay website and what I ran into at the end of the article was disgusting. I am sure the moderators and/or Stan would not be happy if I posted a screen pic from the article page here. I would recommend that the plethora of political postings be required to show some connection to end time events or other church related topics and not just reporting what they said. Otherwise you might consider changing the name of the forum to ClubPolitics! As long as we are into posting such stuff, I question whether even indecent stuff occurring within the church should be written about. I say this as I read other websites of a conservative SDA nature and what is reported to be occurring within the SDA denomination is both discouraging and heartbreaking, except we were told that when we see these things to lift up our heads because our redemption draweth nigh. One pastor, who I value listening to, stated, "Don't watch what is going on in the world to know how soon the end is, watch what is going on within the church!" So, perhaps a discussion of posting content could be undertaken to decide what is acceptable here at ClubAdventist. (I realize that in days past, I posted political type material, but you have not seen such stuff from me for quite a long time.) Dr. Shane Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 I thought that political topics were to be confined to the World Affairs section but I have been gone from here a long time so I could be wrong. Now there are some religious topics that cross into politics and some people find it difficult to tell the difference. Same-sex attraction is one such topic. I can talk about homosexuality for hours and hours without ever getting political. However, some people cannot talk about it for five minutes without getting political. The same is true for abortion. Again, I could talk for hours and hours about abortion without ever getting political. I view the subjects from a religious and psychological view and can completely leave the discussion of politics for others to talk about. But some people can't. My son is transgender. When I talk about that, it is not a political issue and I have no strong political feelings about that issue. However, I love my son deeply and care about his emotional well-being and his personal walk with God. So, that is a "political" topic that I can easily talk about without getting political. But some people cannot. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity

Many believe that end time events will only happen with the power and force of the government. JUst a casual observance of the behavior of those in government the last few years should give pause to the most ardent government supporter Quote

It makes reading post here much harder to dig thru the unncessary inormation that again has nothing to do with the church, end time events, or religion. Just sayin'.
