Gustave Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 Easter = Big Deal. In all fairness though I don't think any Adventist groups celebrate Easter so It's not surprising that Seventh-day Adventists don't. I would agree with those who say it's more important on how a person acts the other 364 days of the year than it is on one particular day - however, if Jesus celebrated the cleansing of the Temple in Jerusalem how much more is it appropriate that we celebrate the event that made our faith not in vain? Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted April 9, 2023 Author Moderators Posted April 9, 2023 I think it appropriate that SDA congregations, and pastors, acknowledge Easter by; * Have the congregational sermon on the Saturday just prior to Easter Sunday, focused on the events of Calvary. * SDA pastors participating with other clergy in a common Easter Sunday service. * Ignore alleged claims of pagan background. In my ministry as a SDA pastor and Federal chaplain, I have focused on the above. Kevin H and phkrause 2 Quote Gregory

I recently read an article that stated Easter eggs were introduced to Easter because of Catholics not eating meat during lent. In other words, eggs were a substitute for meat. Now, that almost sounds like something and Adventist would come up with. Kevin H 1 Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
