There was a Christian who was talking to God, and the Christian said:  "God what is a million years like to you?"  And God said:  "It is like one second of time to me."  The Christian responded:  "God what is a million dollars like to you?"  And God said:  "A million dollars is like one penny to me."  The Christian responded:  "O. K. God, please give me a penny."  And God said:  "Sure thing.  Wait one second."

Joel often tells a religious joke at the beginning of his sermons.  This was one of them.

I am conflicted about telling jokes at the beginning of a sermon.  Often times the only thing most people will remember from a sermon is something that is said in the first ten minutes of the sermon.  When the preacher uses part of that time to tell a joke, that is often all that is remembered.  I love jokes and have nothing against them.  But I am not convinced starting a sermon with one is such a good idea.
