I live in South Texas, about an hour's drive from the Space-X facility on Boca Chica beach.  Space-X brings a lot of revenue and excitement to the community.  Many local workers have found good-paying jobs there in what is one of the nation's poorest counties.  The local airport, which is where Elon Musk flies in, completely demolished the old terminal (which was probably built in the 1950s) and built a modern one.  I worked in construction management before going to graduate school to become a pastoral counselor.  Today I do both.  My involvement in the construction industry keeps me in the loop with developments at the Space-X facility at Boca Chica.  Not only do many of the subcontractors I work with do work there, but my involvement with the Associated General Contractors is a source of construction updates for this area. I built the coffee shop/restaurant in the local airport last year.

This past week Space-X launched its largest rocket.  It was considered to be a success.  Musk's goal was to get it off the launch pad.  My wife and son were out there fishing last year when a rocket exploded on the launch pad during a lift-off attempt.  This one made it well past the launch pad.
