This is a newspaper version of an incident that I've been getting reports about yesterday:

Student held in stabbing

CLINTON — An Atlantic Union College student was ordered held on $10,000 cash bail yesterday, following accusations that he stabbed a fellow student in the leg.

Tennyson B. Reid, a 20-year-old Bronx resident who transferred to the Lancaster-based college this year, stabbed the student outside the school library Monday night, according to Dean of Students John F. Mentges Jr. The assault came after “a misunderstanding” between the two students, Mr. Mentges said.

Mr. Reid is being charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and was presented with the charges yesterday in Clinton District Court. He has been suspended indefinitely from the college, and is not allowed back on campus, according to Worcester County District Attorney John J. Conte’s office.

The college released a statement saying it is cooperating with local police and is “committed to ensuring a safe environment for all students.”

Mr. Reid is due back in Clinton District Court for a hearing Nov. 14.

What is about schools, bombs, guns & knives?

We used to push each other around or verbally assult each other. A brused ego or skinned knee certainly is preferable to what is going on today.

Of course, I lived in the olden days and walked to school 20 miles in the snow "uphill" both ways. At least that is what my 8 year old grandson recently asked me. {suspect his mother put him up to that.}

Ugh... I attended AUC many years ago... and have fond memories of the campus, the library, and the students I met there.

My aunt taught in the English dept. for many years, and was one of the profs who was a regular on the ADP committee.
