Why it matters: The upper chamber skepticism cuts against growing energy in the House GOP toward impeaching either President Biden or one of his officials. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas has emerged as the most plausible target of an eventual impeachment push during this Congress. Driving the news: The House voted today to refer a resolution to impeach Biden over his handling of border security to a pair of committees.
