The Military Draft

The US Military Draft ended on June 30, 1973.  For the past 50 years, as of July 1, the U.S. has depended upon a volunteer force.  No one has been drafted. Today, only 23% of the nation’s youth who are within the enlistment age, are otherwise eligible to serve.  Our military forces could not exist absent the ability of females to now enlist.  Even with this, our military forces are not meeting enlistment requirements.
