Guest Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 It is not often I write posts, but when I do, it's only after much soul-searching and prayer. While it MAY appear that I am writing this to criticise ALL believers, I will be the first to say that I am guity of the sin I'm about to share. In fact, I don't have to go any further than the mirror to see that the person who needs to read this most, than the man in the mirror. I feel it's worth sharing. Witchcraft is a subject that most people do not like to talk about. Just the thought of it conjures up visions of black magic, black pointed hats, and broomsticks. There are, of course, many forms of witchcraft. Practicing witches take every form from simple nature worship to casting spells and invoking demons. However, there is a very subtle form of witchcraft which often goes unrecognized even though it is just as evil and dangerous as the stereotypical form. What we will address here is only one of the many types of witchcraft. Let us begin by defining the term witchcraft. The scripture says in 1 Samuel, "(15:22) And Samuel said, Hath the LORD [as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey [is] better than sacrifice, [and] to hearken than the fat of rams. (15:23) For REBELLION [is as] the sin of WITCHCRAFT, and stubbornness [is as] iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from [being] king. (15:24) And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. (15:25) Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD. ( 15:26) And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel." In this setting, we find that King Saul rebelled against the authority of God's command because he was intimidated by the people. The people also rebelled against the command of God when they intimidated Saul so that he would obey them will instead of God. In response to this rebellion, the scripture states that rebellion is "witchcraft." More in my next post. Quote
aka Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 All three installments to this interesting topic of Witchcraft and Rebellion will be in the course of time split wider apart in the index topic list. Br.Ben, would it be alright with you if I suggest you just start one topic thread with appropriate title, and add onto it the other portions of the lecture? Adding on means just going down to the bottom navigation line of the post that has been originally already submitted and click on the 'reply' button. Up comes the reply mask to put your next portion of the subject into the single topic thread. Submit it, and we have a second posting from you but in the same topic thread. Secondly, the blinking redish letter up on the top of your page means you have gotten a pm –private message- in your inbox here at ClubA. No mail = no blinking red letter envelope. You need to click on it to have the list of mails shown to you. Then click on the subject of the mail and it opens. I say that because you mentioned you are a newbie to Forum usage and I thought giving this tip might help you move into more usage expertise. I saw you saying in the third topic thread of this same title that you are not so up in PC expertise. Thus I felt constrained to give some 'old-timers' tips and tricks. Toothfairy's mean well and don't like insulting by giving commands but by giving help in life. A quarter under the pillow (oops! nowadays a 1$) isn't the only way of helping out. Quote
