NEW YORK (AP) — Coco Gauff’s U.S. Open semifinal victory over Karolina Muchova was delayed by 50 minutes because of a disruption by four environmental activists in the Arthur Ashe Stadium stands Thursday night. One protester glued his bare feet to the concrete floor.

Ten minutes before the U.S. Open final, Coco Gauff was on her phone in the locker room, scrolling through social media.

Gauff surged to a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory over the soon-to-be-No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in yesterday's final at Arthur Ashe Stadium, delighting a raucous New York crowd that backed her from start to finish.
