Administrators Naomi Posted November 10, 2006 Administrators Posted November 10, 2006 1. Hey! It's my turn to sit in the front pew! 2. I was so enthralled, I never noticed your sermon went 25 minutes over time. 3. Personally I find witnessing much more enjoyable than watching TV. 4. I've decided to give our church the $500 a month I used to send to TV evangelists. 5. I volunteer to be the permanent teacher for the Junior Sabbath School class. 6. I love it when we sing hymns I've never heard before! 7. Since we're all here, let's start the service early. 8. Pastor, we'd like to send you to this Bible seminar in the Bahamas. 9. Nothing inspires me and strengthens my commitment like our annual stewardship campaign! Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted November 10, 2006 Members Posted November 10, 2006 Those are good... but....uh...what is a *stewardship campaign*? Is that like what used to be Ingathering? Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Moderators Gerr Posted November 10, 2006 Moderators Posted November 10, 2006 At SECC, and I suspect the same is true in other conferences, the pastors are expected to preach at least one sermon a year on stewardship, i.e. paying your tithe and generosity in your offerings. Gerry Quote
Administrators Naomi Posted November 17, 2006 Author Administrators Posted November 17, 2006 As far as I know Gerry it is the same in all conferences Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
