It lasted 11 seasons and generated perhaps the most recognizable TV character ever: The Fonz. "'Happy Days,' in a way, was the '70s using the '50s to repudiate the '60s, or at least the divisive aftermath of them," N.Y. Times critic James Poniewozik writes.
