who can lead someone to Christ? Eh?

I would like the forum members' responses to this question:

Do you believe that ONLY a Christian can lead someone to Christ? And I am talking in the times of the present - not back in Biblical history when Christ made his appearance on earth and hung out with the disciples and other riffraff of the day.

IOW, can a nonbeliever lead a person to Christ?

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

You mean, like in spite of themselves? I would say, Yes.

I wouldn't want to limit the Holy Spirit at all

(Pam, you said that with a Canadian accent- eh?)

People generally have no clue where I am from when they speak to me in person (and apparently when I write). itsok.gif

My question had to do more with someone who I know is a Wiccan apologist, formerly Christian. He believes that each person should follow his/her own spiritual path. If someone asks him about Christianity, he tells them - openly and honestly. He does not denigrate the Christian God nor Christ. He has led to Christ people who had been Bible-thumped by Christians. But he does not himself believe that is the path for his own spirituality.

I suppose one could say the Holy Spirit is using him as a witness for Christ. ...I suppose... I guess I find it ironic that a pagan could do a better job helping someone find Christ than could a Christian..

Hi Pam,

This popped into my head as I read your post.

Luk 19:39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. 40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

So if God can use stones He can use anything. But that was an exception not the rule. Let's look at this as a business. You are the owner and you have a great product and your sales team know all about the product, let's say teeth whitner. Your team is a little sluggish in sales. You have a competitor who has a former sales person of yours who used to used your stuff but now doesn't.

Who do you want to tell about your product? Well if you are in this for the money you don't care who sprads the news. But when you care about your employees and want them to experience the joy of making big sales, you obviously want them to make the sales.

1Jo 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Jesus said, "I if I be lifted up will draw all men unto me"

Someone who knows about God can tell anyone about God. But someone who knows God can testify with power about the love and God and His desire for His children to experience the joy of saving other people. He could have had the angles do this work but He has commissioned us to do it for our own good. Else how are we to over come evil if not by this "good"

The unbeliever can speak word and the Holy Spirit can bring them home to the searching one, but the child of God has the power of the Spirit that can reach exactly where the pain is or the questions are.

Those who talk about God and refuse to believe and say it's not for me don't really know God. They can't, Jesus said if He was crucified that He'd draw all men to Him. When taht love is comprehended as for ones sins and to give life, it cannot but draw. Unless the person is not willing to surrender to God because of a false image of God that Satan has presented and cause to be believed.

I hope I was of help,

Norman

OBTW I saw that IP address reader you had, that was neat. I decided to activate my zone alarm again. I stopped using it because it was preventing me from getting online sometimes and I have not taken the time to set it up right. Now I don't see you IP address reader.

actually I still see it :duno

Thanks for those thoughts/ideas, Norman!! They really made sense to me...which is really gratifying because there's not a whole lot these days that's making any sense to me whatsoever. stars

Time for me to head for some sleep... :otb

(yeah, the IP reader looked kinda neat so I thought I'd try it for awhile)

Sure... but only if the Holy Spirit is involved. And He's always involved in bringing someone to Jesus.
