Members phkrause Posted May 1, 2024 Author Members Posted May 1, 2024 Hunter's war on Fox Hunter Biden's legal team is requesting that prominent Fox News hosts, including Sean Hannity, Jesse Watters and Maria Bartiromo, preserve documentation, Axios' Alex Thompson reports. Why it matters: The president's son is threatening to sue Fox News for defamation, exploitation of his image and publication of hacked photographs, according to a letter obtained by Axios that was sent to the news channel last week. The lawyers are demanding Fox News take down "The Trial of Hunter Biden" — a six-part mock trial focused on his foreign business dealings. The series "unlawfully published and continues to publish intimate images of Mr. Biden depicting him in the nude as well as engaged in sex acts in violation of the majority of states' laws against the nonconsensual disclosure of sexually explicit images and videos," the lawyers wrote. Fox News did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Biden's lawyers are also demanding that Fox News hosts update their viewers about the February indictment of Alexander Smirnov, a former informant charged with lying to the FBI about Hunter Biden's business dealings. Between the lines: The threatened lawsuit is part of a flurry of motions and countersuits filed by Hunter Biden's team following the unraveling of his plea deal last summer. The new strategy has at times created friction with his father's White House advisers, but Hunter has had his father's support.
