Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted August 16, 2024 Moderators Posted August 16, 2024 Denominational Pay: Generally, SDA members do not know how much their clergy are being paid, as they are not paid by the local congregation.[NOTE: Some congregations do hire someone ot provide pastoral care. That is a very different situation.] In general, the NAD expects local Conferences to abide by an established pay scale. Minor deviations from policy may be allowed. At the present, a Conference of which I am informed, has advertised for an Associate Ministerial person, who will also perform some duties in another department. That Conference has publicly stated that the annualized pay for that position will range from $73,324 to $85,846. I believe that the higher level of pay is 2% above the recommended annual pay, which would place it at slightly over $84,000. Congregational pastors would be paid slightly less than the above. Joe Knapp Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 Are these west coast wages? The cost of living is higher there. P Ron Kelly said recently he was earning $64,000 a year when he was in Michigan. The real questions being raised right now is total salary. What is the salary of the GC president, and more importantly, what are the amounts he earns from the board of directors he sits on? Adra, Florida Hospitals, Loma Linda hospital, other boards. Amazing facts? Others? Some have claimed that this is as high as his GC salary. I really think there should complete transparency of the GC Adcom finances. Quote
