Moderators Nan Posted November 24, 2006 Moderators Posted November 24, 2006 I have a pair of long yellow woollen handknitted socks which a friend made for me when I was in high school, to be used when playing (field) hockey. I still have them and wear them occasionally, very toasty in cold weather. Quote
aldona Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 I'm sitting here wearing a lovely pair of fluffy bedsocks that I got recently as a gift. The are soft and warm and fuzzy and a violent shade of red that would make a fire truck look anemic. I like them so much I think I'll wear them to work. Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted November 25, 2006 Members Posted November 25, 2006 I like fuzzy fleece socks made to wear with sandals (like Birkis). My favorite pair are multi-colored pink, purple, and sky blue.... and I love to wear them to work! Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Moderators Denise Posted November 25, 2006 Moderators Posted November 25, 2006 Winter socks, the kind you wear lounging around in your house to keep your feet warm. I have several of them. I guess they are slipper socks. I look forward when the cold weather comes around to wear them again. Quote Be Kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another... Monticello Georgia
gina i Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Me too Denise. Lounging socks that are thicker than normal, I love those! Quote All I have seen teaches me to trust the Creator for all I have not seen. -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Neil D Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Hmmmm.....I think that this is a "gender post"... Only the females specified what thier favorite socks were....I think guys don't do socks... Me, I don't have any favorite socks...I wear them all without mallace toward none. Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw

(or church??!) aldona Aldona the socks sound great - but in Melbourne in November???????? Or is your weather not quite as warm as Sydney today? :cky We've had some very strange weather recently - a couple of weeks ago it actually snowed on Mt Dandenong. (yes - driving to work past the "Summer Fire Hazard" and "Total Fire Ban" signs and seeing cars driving into Monbulk with snow on them). Followed by a couple of hot windy days, and then low 20's (Celsius) for the past week or so. Plus, my body's thermo-regulatory system has this little quirk...I can be hot from the top of my head to my ankles, but my feet are icy cold...and a pair of cold feet can be enough to prevent me from falling asleep, no matter how many blankets and quilts I pile on them. So there I am in my little short summer night wear, lying on top of the bedclothes with all the windows open...with a pair of thick, heavy-duty furry bedsocks. Needless to say, it drives my husband nuts. :PF aldona Quote www.asrc.org.au (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Melbourne)Helping over 2000 refugees & asylum seekers each monthIMSLP/Petrucci Music LibraryThe Public Domain Music Score Library - Free Sheet Music DownloadsLooking for classical sheet music?
