SMAN Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 "Ride a Martian camel from oasis to oasis and enjoy the incredible Martian sunsets. Explore mysterious canals and marvel at the views. Trips to the moon also available." More than 600 people in Italy wanted to ride in a spaceship badly enough to pay $10,000 a piece for the first tourist flight to Mars. According to the Italian police, the would-be space travelers were told to spend their next vacation on Mars, amid the splendors of ruined temples and painted deserts. Authorities believe that the con men running this scam made off with over six million dollars. Quote
Neil D Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 SMAN THE people in ITALY are taking in as easy as the people of IDAHO hahaha hehehe hohoho dgrimm60 Doug, you remind me of the story where a couple of guys from Idaho decided to make counterfit money...When they got the plates back, they noticed one slight mistake...Thier $20 forgory bills were all $18. Well, they really got mad at the guy that made the plates...in fact, they tried to get thier money back, but the fogoer had muscle men and well, they never did get thier money back.....Anyways, these 2 Idaho guys were out a lot of money to make these plates. Finally, one of the guys says, " Hey, I know how to recoup our losses... Well make a bunch of $18 bills, and pass them off to the guys in Tennessee. They are really stupid over there..All we have to do is ask for change." And the other guy thinks it a great idea as well... So the went to Nashville and thought better of passing any money there, so they went to a little po-dunk place out side of Nashville...They went to the clerk and ask for change for an $18 bill...The clerk says, " Sure, do you want it in three $6 or six $3?" And they say I never used math...... Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw

Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted November 26, 2006 Members Posted November 26, 2006 Reminds me of when some of the fellows in the Printing class at Laurelwood Academy decided to make some cute counterfeit bills with the Adm Bldg on the back and Walt Meske's pic on the front (he was principal at the time). The FBI got wind of the bills and came out and broke the plates and destroyed all the bills they could find...Nobody got hauled off to the clink but everyone involved got soundly chastised!
